Double-Marked Salmon-Carp
Prochilodus binotatus
Shot with the arrow in the Rio Branco, this fish measures thirteen and a half inches long and three and three-quarters deep, with teeth thickly set in each jaw and a round fleshy tongue. Dark olive on the head shading to silvery and pink below, bluish grey above shading to greenish on the abdomen, it bears two round black marks, one behind the gill-cover and one at the tail’s base, with red-tipped fins and a forked dull-yellow blue-striped tail.
