Dark-Marked Centrarchus

Centrarchus notatus

Without notes and somewhat resembling a related species, this dark-marked Centrarchus measures eight and a half inches long by three and a half deep, of uniform olive-brown with five indistinct banded marks crossing below the middle. Each scale bears a rich umber-brown spot at its base, the lower head and opercula are marked with large rounded spots, and the large dorsal and anal fins carry dark spots running in bands, with the ventral fins lengthened.
