Black-Blotched Cychla
Cychla nigro-maculata
Sharing the habits and haunts of the last, this black-blotched Cychla grows to about eighteen inches, is equally esteemed for the table, and is taken in the same manner, the compressed head bearing a lump on top. The greenish-yellow body, light on belly and sides, is irregularly spotted with black with a peacock-eye at the tail, vermilion lower fins, and indigo dorsal; it lives half an hour out of water, the intestines straight.
