Leopard
Felis leopardus
The Leopard is a remarkably graceful and slender cat, yellowish above and white beneath, the body covered with small spots that group in rose-like rings, inhabiting both Africa and India and confounded with the larger, more powerful Panther. Frequenting thick cover and forest, it preys on deer, antelopes, sheep, poultry, hares, and monkeys, climbing expertly after game; in captivity it shows great activity and grace, and gentle treatment can render it tame and deeply attached.
