Great-Headed Tody

Todus Megacephalus

A genuine though aberrant tody bearing the bill of a Lepturus and a particularly large head, with feeble feet and lateral toes united to the middle, olive green above with a fulvous tinge on front and crown, separated from the back by a cinereous neck. The under plumage is yellow tinged with olive and faintly striped on breast and flanks, the ear feathers crossed by a black band, the tail feathers narrow and pointed, total length about three inches.
