Long-Tailed African Tody

Platystera longipis

A pretty species, the smallest African flycatcher of its kind, dark cinereous verging to grey above and dull black on the wings, with a broad black eye stripe from lores to ears margined above by a slender white line. The wings bear a white stripe, the black tail has white tipped outer feathers, and the under plumage is cinereous with rose coloured chin and white belly; it darts upon passing insects and searches foliage for larvae.
