Platystera lobata

A small flycatcher of Western Africa, by no means uncommon there but not extending to the southern part of the continent, having syndactyle feet. The female, considered to be the figured sex, is distinguished by a red or rufous breast, this mark separating the sexes in related species, the total length about four and a half inches.
