Horsfield’s Gaper
Eurylaimus Horsfieldii
A bird with a large broad flattened bill dilated at the gape, the head and neck blended in chestnut black, cinereous, and vinaceous red, the remaining upper plumage deep black bearing a broad bright yellow stripe down the scapulars and back. Yellow bands cross the lesser quills and primary bases, the under parts dull vinaceous red with a dark breast band, the black tail showing white bands before the tips, total length eight inches.
