Cape Turtle

Ectopistes? Capensis

A pretty species of Southern Africa, Senegal, and Nubia, whose six-inch cuneate tail lends a bulk its lark-sized body lacks, nesting in low trees and laying two fragile white eggs. The male bears an intense black forehead, throat, and breast-centre, pale French-grey crown and flanks, white belly, hair-brown back, orange-brown quills tipped black, and yellow bill and feet; the female is duller, with whitish forehead and shorter tail.
