Sœmmering’s Antelope

Gasella Sœmmeringii

A very beautiful and delicately coloured antelope of north-eastern Africa, Soemmering’s Antelope stands about two feet seven inches at the shoulder and some four feet and a half in length. The upper parts and outsides of the ears and legs are a delicate reddish-grey isabella tint, the lower parts and inner limbs pure white, while the forehead and ridge of the nose are deep brownish-black, with a pale line above each eye and a darker streak from eye to nostril.
