Portax pica

Found in the jungles of northern India toward Persia, this active animal is an agreeable dark grey speckled from black, brownish and white tints, with darker head, legs and underparts, a strong mane, a tufted black dewlap and curious transverse white marks on the legs. The horns are seven or eight inches, curved forward, and the hornless female is pale reddish fawn; gentle in captivity, when attacking it falls on its knees then springs forward butting with great force.
